The Grandwork Hammer Filing Jig offers a flat, horizontal, slippery surface on which to file piano hammers. Place a thumb on the tip of the hammer's molding, applying firm pressure downward but also some pressure sideways into the drum, and guide the shank with a finger of the other hand around the axis of the thumb's downward pressure.
