For hammers with non-zero bore angles, a hammer square only works when it is used with a platform that is normal (perpendicular in both dimensions) to the hammer axis! We offer a series of 2-axis smart digital levels so that you can quickly and easily set up either the SFV (squaring/filing/voicing) block or the squaring platform. Our digital protocol is included. This model is our recommendation for hammer squaring work. It is 5x more accurate than the Wixey angle gauge, measures 2 dimensions at once, and is still affordable. It is also useful for comparing the string planes to the keybed when custom boring hammers.
