Description
The Underlevel/String Height Gauge calibrates the leveling of strings from underneath, where the hammers strike. Level indexes the horizontal of the keybed. A light-gauge spring (height-adjustable from underneath) lifts the plunger to touch the lowest string(s). With a stringing hook, lift the ones that zing when plucked until all unison strings zing. The Underlevel/String Height Gauge also measures and records grand string heights at strike. It will record up to 10 string heights on its aluminum plunger through vertically distinct registration holes (see String Height Gauge with Rail info).
Important notes: This tool is used with at the piano or with a on your workbench with the Regulation Station Starter. This tool is not for use with a Custom Keybed because the Custom Keybed does not have a surface for it to sit on. Therefore, if you are looking for a tool to use with the Regulation Station Deluxe or Regulation Station Full Monte, you will need a shorter version that rides on an adjustable-length rail known as the String Height Gauge with Rail.
