The Sampling Kit Keysteps memorize grand bedding in the piano and set it up accurately on a bench (see the Grandwork Sampling Protocol). The wrench turns the snug-fitting Keystep cap screws, two machine screws store removed punchings in order, and wedge shims placed between bass cheekblock and keyframe allow easy fine-alignment of the bass side of each hammer with its bass-side unison string (so the soft pedal will engage all notes equally and simultaneously).
This kit includes:
- 10 12mm Keysteps
- 10 10mm Keysteps (to accommodate shorter keypins)
- 1 Ratcheting 8mm Wrench
- 2 Machine Screws to store front punchings
- 1 200g weight (for stabilizing note #3 strike sampling)
- 2 Wedge Shims for wearmark offset and soft pedal regulating
- 1 zippered bag
the regulating rack
Letoff racks provide letoff for a section. Regulating Racks provide the entire strike profile and change its height as needed for the whole action.
Applying The System
The Setup and Order of Operations guides you step by step and the Laminated Protocols let you tick off steps as you go, so you don't get out of order or leave something out.
The Regulating Rack's rail has LEDs that illuminate both templates and action. The Hammer Hanging Jig has its own LEDa, too. And Lighting Rails come in four sizes to shine light wherever you need it.
